Origin / 起源
The Olympics, also known as the Olympic Games, trace their origins back to ancient Greece. The first recorded Olympic Games were held in 776 BC in Olympia, Greece. These games were held every four years and were a series of athletic competitions among representatives of various city-states and kingdoms of Ancient Greece.

History / 由来
The ancient Olympics continued until 393 AD, when the Roman Emperor Theodosius I abolished them due to their pagan associations. For centuries, the games lay dormant until the idea of reviving them surfaced in the 19th century.

The modern Olympic Games were revived in 1896 by Pierre de Coubertin, a French educator and historian. The first modern Olympics were held in Athens, Greece, featuring athletes from 14 countries competing in 43 events. Since then, the Olympics have grown into the world's foremost sports competition, featuring summer and winter games held every four years. The Games have expanded to include thousands of athletes from over 200 countries, competing in a wide variety of sports.
